About Beth Ramer

Fit Living was born because I live my mantra: define your passion, make a career out of it, and you will always love what you do. I have always been very active... walking, road running, trail running, strength training and attending all sorts of exercise classes. I have created a home gym so that when I can't get to the gym or run outside, I can still work out at home. But it's not always about physical fitness. I know that sometimes pounding the sidewalk is just what I need to get clarity on some issue that is plaguing me and cluttering my mind. I have adopted healthier eating habits and have seen that my body can be transformed by eating the right foods, plus I no longer get migraine headaches. Because I am a nurse, I am very eager to understand everything I can about exercise physiology from the science perspective. I want to understand what is happening to my muscles and my body.
I believe that a healthy body and healthy mind are essential for personal growth. This is an integrated approach to wellness combining fitness and lifestyle coaching. My educational background as a nurse combined with my passion for fitness has evolved into a program designed to meet the wellness needs of individuals. I am a nurturer by nature. I have a strong belief in the mind/body connection and feel that positive thoughts create positive energy which leads to action. I have extensive experience in my professional career as an educator. This allows me to evaluate each client's learning needs to develop a program that is individualized to meet their goals. An integrated approach incorporates principles and practices of holistic health care that create an environment conducive to unlocking the core energy that will allow individuals to lead a healthy lifestyle to meet fitness, personal and professional goals.
I received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification with a specialty in Oncology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. I also obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA. I have studied with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) as a fitness trainer. I am a life-long learner... there is always something new to learn. I routinely attend seminars and workshops, review current research and read various publications to be sure that I have the most up-to-date information on nutrition, fitness, wellness, and personal and corporate coaching.
My goal is to empower the clients that I work with to experience a sense of health and well being. I will provide fitness, wellness and life balance coaching in an educational, safe and fun environment.
